Entering Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Detroit Lions, Falcons running back Steven Jackson needed just two rushing yards to pass former Falcons running back Warrick Dunn (10,967) on the NFL's all-time rushing list and 34 yards to top 11,000 yards for his career; he did both. Jackson took his first carry of the game for seven yards, surpassing Dunn, before finishing the first half with 11 carries for 38 yards and one touchdown, becoming just the 19th player in NFL history to post 11,000 career rushing yards.
In the 22-21 loss, Jackson carried the ball 18 times for 60 yards and the 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter; he has now rushed for 11,026 yards in his current 11-year career.
