Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan fielded a stellar performance during the second half of Sunday’s 2015 Pro Bowl, throwing for 104 yards, two touchdowns and led Team Irvin to a 32-28 victory over Team Carter.
His come-from-behind victory took place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Az., the same field Super Bowl XLIX will be played Sunday.
"I'm at the point now where I'm not going to the Super Bowl until I'm playing in it," Ryan told Atlanta Journal Constitution's Jeff Schultz during the week leading up to the Pro Bowl.
Just shy of a month has passed since the end of the 2014 campaign and the search for a new head coach began for the Falcons, bringing a new era upon Flowery Branch.
As much as the season didn't end the way anyone wanted it to, the Falcons signal-caller is focused on moving forward even though the ups and downs of the year still seem as if they happened yesterday.
"It's still fresh in my mind and it was disappointing," Ryan said. "It didn't go the way any of us wanted to. But it'll be exciting moving forward. Things will be a little bit different (with a new coaching staff), learning what to do. I'll miss Smitty (former head coach Mike Smith). He was great. But it also will be exciting to see what happens and I'm looking forward to it."
