Quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receiver Devin Hester will proudly represent the Atlanta Falcons in the 2015 Pro Bowl on Sunday, but they'll be facing each other.
Entering the final round of the Pro Bowl draft Wednesday night on NFL Network, Hester had already been assigned to Team Carter, led by Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter. The opposition, Team Irvin, directed by Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin, selected Ryan to join its side, along with fellow quarterbacks Tony Romo and Matthew Stafford.
"I'm taking a guy that's going to lead us to victory," Irvin said of Ryan, who was added to the game to replace New England's Tom Brady earlier this week.
When asked about facing Hester, who predicted he would score two times on Sunday, per the request of his coach, Ryan smiled, joked and said, "It's part of the deal."
Sunday will be Hester's fourth-career Pro Bowl and the third for Ryan. Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was selected to his second-career Pro Bowl but will not play, instead continuing to heal from a late-season hip injury.
Sunday's game is slated for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
