FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Falcons took to the field on Thursday morning for their first training camp session of the 2017 season.
It was an energetic practice full of competition and impressive plays, but safety Deron Washington's high-flying interception was arguably the highlight of the day. Late in the team period, the rookie out of Pittsburg State, made a break on a pass from Matt Simms to rookie receiver Reggies Davis and showed off his incredible athleticism.
It's only the first day of practice, but Washington has already made a nice play. As a rookie fighting for a spot on Atlanta's roster, that's a pretty good debut.
