Falcons to honor past Pro Bowlers on Oct. 3

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA — The Atlanta Falcons announced today that they will honor past players that have been named to the NFC Pro Bowl teams throughout club history at halftime of the Atlanta Falcons-San Francisco 49ers game Oct. 3 as part of the their celebration of alumni weekend.

The former Pro Bowl Falcons are being recognized in connection with "Throwback Weekend," which features current players donning the team's original 1966 uniforms that were introduced last season for the first time.

The Falcons organization invited all players that were named to an NFC Pro Bowl during their playing days to the Oct. 3 game. Pro Bowlers from different eras in Falcons history will be in attendance, including DE Claude Humphrey, S Rolland Lawrence, RB Gerald Riggs, QB Steve Bartkowski, CB Scott Case, WR Terance Mathis and RB Warrick Dunn, among others.

"Once again, this year we look forward to letting our fans celebrate the contributions that were made by our former players with alumni weekend," Falcons President Rich McKay said. "By recognizing former players in this way, we are mirroring the NFL's time-honored traditions and we are allowing our fans to pay tribute to their accomplishments."
