Wives and girlfriends of Falcons players, coaches and staff held a Women's Association volunteer event at Eagle Ranch in Flowery Branch, Ga. on Wednesday.
A Christian-based youth organization, Eagle Ranch provides a home for boys and girls in crisis and in need of hope and healing. The organization strives to impact children and their families by providing a home, a school and a counseling center for the children and eventually sending them back home emotionally, educationally and spiritually healthy.
The women gathered to participate in different activities that included assembling welcome baskets, decorating journals and bins for the children and making boxes filled with ornaments for the organization's donors.
"As soon as you walk in, you can just feel it's a special place," said Angeline Dimitroff, wife of Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff. "It's in a beautiful location and it's a great retreat for these children and families who need solace. It's amazing that they can make a difference for so many children's lives; what they have going here is very special."
The event, which also included Julie Smith, wife of head coach Mike Smith, and Terrin McKay, wife of Falcons president and CEO Rich McKay, was part of the monthly volunteer events the Women's Association takes part of in support of the Falcons' continued efforts to give back to the community.
"Not a lot of people get to go into these community organizations and see how much of a difference a little bit of time can make," Dimitroff said. "We are so fortunate to be associated with the Falcons organization so I think we owe it to the community to do things in return."
