The Atlanta Falcons have partnered with Truist for a weekly series designed to help fans get to know the limited partners of the franchise.

Over the next 11 weeks, AtlantaFalcons.com will publish a Q&A with one of the 11 limited partners of the Atlanta Falcons. In these discussions, the limited partners share advice for navigating the world of business, their favorite Atlanta Falcons memories and so much more.

This week, Brian Barker shares his answers.

Brian Barker

Barker is the owner and CEO of AFS, an industry-leading domestic freight forwarding company headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is an active community supporter in Shreveport, as well as in Destin, Florida, and Park City, Utah. Barker and his wife, Kathi, reside in Park City. They have three adult children: Brian, Jacob and Amanda.

Why did you want to become a limited partner in the Atlanta Falcons organization?

My passion for football and drive to win played a significant role in my decision. While the investment aspect is a given, the opportunity to be part of the Atlanta Falcons and the NFL is a remarkable blessing. Along the way, I've forged many connections and friendships, but it was a special invitation from Arthur (Blank) that truly made this opportunity possible.

What is your favorite Atlanta Falcons related memory?

It's hard to beat the 2016 season, especially considering the emotional highs and lows. Watching the Falcons perform at such a high level, sweeping our division and the dominant NFC Championship win over Green Bay. It is hard to win in the NFL and just getting to the Super Bowl is challenging, but it was a great memory. What I cherish most is sharing that experience with my son.

When you look back at your career, what is something that makes you the most proud?

I am most proud of my perseverance and my refusal to accept "no" as an answer.

Can you briefly describe any philanthropic passions you have?

Inspired by my father, Jerry Barker, my wife Kathi and I believe in giving back and never taking anything for granted. We are particularly passionate about supporting Calvary Academy, a Christian school in my hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. They lack the funding that public schools receive, so it has been rewarding for Kathi and I to see their sports program thrive, culminating in their 2023 Louisiana State Championship.

Who has been your biggest personal and professional influences?

My parents have been my greatest influences — always supportive and encouraging. My mother, in particular, was my biggest cheerleader. Additionally, Ben Townsend, my CFO, has been a mentor, advisor and confidant, and of course, my wife Kathi has always been my steadfast support.

Who is your favorite player (Falcons or otherwise) of all time?

Matt Ryan, for his exceptional role as a leader and ambassador for the Falcons both on and off the field.
