While most of Atlanta was waking up to head to work, the second group of Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders was already on its way to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to take the first flight on AirTran to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
These 30 ladies were in great moods and extremely excited for the adventures ahead. At the gate we greeted choreographer, Jakene Ashford, with presents, a first-class upgrade and a resounding happy birthday song, causing all of the other travelers to start their mornings with a smile.
I must say, we were in good spirits during the hour long layover in Orlando, for my teammates and I were able to get to know each other better over a cup of coffee and some snacks.
Our flight from Orlando to Jamaica was quick and easy, and our sponsors at AirTran provided great customer service and fun throughout both trips. They even allowed third-year veteran, Shauna K., to fit her tiny little self in an overhead compartment when everybody exited the plane!
Our van ride to the hotel was a smooth one, and the hot weather and colorful scenery made us more and more anxious to get to the resort. When I say our hotel — The Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Montego Bay — is gorgeous, it's an understatement!
We buddied up and checked in to the hotel, met with our coach, Chato Waters, who gave us the low-down on the next few days, and were free to have a relaxing day. Many of the rookies bonded on the beach, and the vets enjoyed a lunch on the restaurant patio before taking in some sun.
The entirety of our team is meeting tonight for our traditional team dinner, and some girls will be off to bed early for their sunrise shots beginning as early as 3 a.m.! Our group as a whole is pleased to discover that our teammates are doing a great job with their swimsuit shots so far, for our photography, makeup, and hair team is, for lack of a better word ... "cheermazing!"
Keep checking back for more cheerleader blogs during the 2012-2013 Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar shoot here in Jamaica.
Cheers and Spinergy!
