There aren't any major surprises in the list of players who won't play in the game, which includes both Julio and Deion Jones. Not on the list are notable starters like Matt Ryan, Keanu Neal and Devonta Freeman, although it remains to be seen if they actually see the field on Thursday night or for how long.
Throughout the week coach Dan Quinn has intimated that a number of starters, including Ryan, would likely play against the Jets, marking the first action for several of them this preseason.
"Definitely our plan heading in with a number of the guys is to get more work," Quinn said. "... We'll take a look on an individual basis, but for sure, we're going to extend a lot more players in this game."
