FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons released offensive lineman Matt Hennessy, the team announced Thursday.
Hennessy was signed to the 53-man roster on Oct. 15 after being elevated from the practice squad for the max of three games.
Though Hennessy was elevated for Weeks 4-6, he did not take a live snap. After he was signed to the active roster, though, Hennessy did play in Weeks 7-10. He took 12 offensive snaps and 18 special teams snaps.
All 12 of Hennessy's offensive snaps this season came in the Falcons' Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, when Atlanta rushed for 155 yards and passed for 214. The special teams reps split among the four games.
Hennessy was a third-round draft pick for the Falcons in 2020 and played in 41 games, starting 22, between 2020-22.
The Falcons did not announce a corresponding move.
