FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Falcons kick off divisional play against their biggest rival, the New Orleans Saints, in Week 4 at 1 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. .
The Saints and Falcons are both coming off Week 3 losses, but New Orleans has the edge with a 2-1 record as opposed to Atlanta's 1-2. The Falcons have faced teams so far with a combined record of 8-1, and this one isn't going to get any easier. Every year, Atlanta and New Orleans is among the most intense games, regardless of record.
This rivalry game also begins a stretch of three straight divisional matchups that will have a big impact on Atlanta's goal of winning the NFC South.
"The division is coming in town," Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said, "and we better be ready to deal because this will determine a lot about us at the end of it all."
A win for either team would advance them in the NFC South standings, but the Falcons can pull even in the all-time series with a victory. Currently, the Saints lead the all-time regular season series 55-54. However, the Falcons won the lone playoff meeting against their rival, beating the Saints 27-20 in the wild card round of the 1991 playoffs.
