According to a tweet by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Falcons tight end Austin Hooper is expected to miss "about a month" after sustaining a knee injury in Atlanta's 26-9 victory against the New Orleans Saints.
When asked about the report that Hooper would be out for a month, Falcons coach Dan Quinn responded, "not from our building," implying that the team does not agree with that timetable.
Hooper, who is in his fourth season with the Falcons, has been having a career year. Through the first 10 weeks, he is tied with Travis Kelce for the league lead in catches among tight ends with 56. Hooper's six touchdowns also tie him with Darren Fells for the most by a tight end. Hooper has been a staple of the Falcons' offense this season and a favorite target for quarterback Matt Ryan, especially inside of the red zone.
