According to a report by ESPN's Vaughn McClure, Falcons tight end Austin Hooper will miss Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers due to an injury he sustained during the team's 26-9 victory against the New Orleans Saints.

Per McClure, Hooper sustained an MCL sprain that will sideline him for Sunday, but the Falcons' tight end is seeking a second opinion to see how long the injury will keep him out of action. Hooper has turned in a stellar season for the Falcons thus far and is tied for the league lead in both receptions and touchdowns for tight ends this year.

Through nine games for the Falcons, Hooper has caught 56 passes for 608 yards and six touchdowns while emerging as a favorite target for Matt Ryan. Hooper's injury isn't the only one the Falcons are concerned about, as running back Devonta Freeman is nursing a foot injury and his status for Sunday is reportedly in jeopardy.
