Dan Quinn took the podium on Tuesday and provided a number of injury updates. The Falcons will use this week as a dress rehearsal for players to familiarize themselves with the weekly routine that occurs during the regular season.
The Falcons' defense will get one of their leaders back this week as Desmond Trufant is expected to work his way back into practice. Quinn is unsure of Trufant's status for Saturday's matchup in Miami.
On the running back injury front, Devonta Freeman (hamstring) and Tevin Coleman (hamstring) will participate in practice today and seem to be getting closer to their full return. Antone Smith (hamstring) was at the walk through today but Quinn doesn't anticipate Smith being back unless he makes a good recovery over the next two or three days.
"I would love for him (Smith) to get back into the practice and if he gets closer to the game, then we can make that decision, but not yet with him," Quinn said.
Quinn also announced that defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman will return to practice today, but will not participate in any contact drills.
