Throwback Thursday: Tommy Nobis Featured on TIME
Fifty years ago this month, Tommy Nobis was featured on the cover of TIME Magazine after being selected as the No. 1 pick in the 1966 NFL Draft. Former Falcon Mike Freeman had the cover framed for Nobis this year.

Tommy Nobis was the first player ever drafted by the Atlanta Falcons and was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1966 NFL Draft.

Nobis was the first-ever Falcons player to be voted to the Pro Bowl after being selected as a rookie.

Nobis was drafted in the 1966 NFL Draft and retired in 1976.

Former Falcon Mike Freeman had the the cover of this special issue of TIME Magazine framed for Tommy Nobis in 2015. Freeman played with Nobis from 1968-70.

Nobis' uniform, No. 60, has been worn only by him during the team's existence.
