With the No. 194th pick in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons selected wide receiver Russell Gage out of LSU on Saturday.

WHY HE FITS
Gage could become a factor on special teams for the Falcons. He finished his career at LSU with 19 special teams tackles and a fumble recovery in addition to gaining 579 yards and scoring five touchdowns on offense. Gage was a team captain for LSU in 2017, and he has good athleticism to cover on kickoffs and serve as a gunner on punts. He may also get the opportunity to earn a role returning kicks for the Falcons.
SCOUTING REPORT
The 6-foot, 184-pound Gage is described as "energetic, highly competitive and fearless" on his NFL.com draft profile, which are three qualities that should certainly fit what the Falcons are looking for.At LSU's pro day, Gage ran the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds and had a 39-inch vertical, highlighting his explosiveness.
