On Wednesday, May 22, the Atlanta Falcons will pay tribute to wounded military veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan during a fishing outing and cookout at Lake Lanier. In its sixth year, this event affords each veteran an opportunity to be paired with Falcons on individual fishing boats in an attempt to compete for various prizes, such as the most catches, the largest striper fish, the largest spotted bass fish, the smallest striper fish and the smallest spotted bass. The veterans will be joined by several Falcons players, assistant coaches, cheerleaders and alumni, including former wide receivers Michael Haynes and Brian Finneran, as well as local media talent. Fishing will be followed by a special cookout hosted by Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith with food courtesy of Outback Steakhouse.
