Matt Ryan has put together his best professional campaign and Bill Belichick certainly has noticed.
"He does everything well," Belichick said of Ryan. "He handles the line of scrimmage well, gets the team in the right plays, plays good in critical situations, deep ball, intermediate throws, possession passes, red passes; he's athletic, he can get out of some trouble. There's really no weaknesses to his game.
"He's a team player, he does the right thing for the team, puts his team in a position to win. There's not much to not like about him."
Ryan led the Falcons to the No. 1 scoring offense this season. Atlanta's quarterback finished with 38 touchdowns and seven interceptions in the regular season.
Ryan's play has been one of the storylines of this postseason. He's thrown seven touchdowns and zero interceptions, averaging 365 yards a game.
Belichick wasn't the only Patriot to offer praise of Ryan's stellar play this season.
Tom Brady, a friend of Ryan's, believes he is "as deserving as anybody" for the NFL MVP award after the "incredible year" he had.
The respect is mutual for Ryan and Brady, and if both quarterbacks' play to this point is any indication, there will be some great offensive play taking place in Houston.
