Chris Redman took over for the Falcons at quarterback on their second series. Ryan was chased to his right by Bucs defensive end Stylez G. White and Tim Crowder "Tim Crowder (American football)") and the 270-pound White appeared to fall on Ryan's right foot on a third down.
Ryan came to the bench where he was attended by team medical personnel and Redman began warming up. Redman's first pass was incomplete -- a drop -- but he completed a pass to Tony Gonzalez "Tony Gonzalez (wide receiver)") for 17 yards on his second attempt to convert a third down.
