Bucking the Broncos

Big players come up in big moments.

While Atlanta's defense played a huge role in the Falcons' win on Monday night over the Broncos, Roddy White was just as important to keeping the offense moving down the field against the Broncos' physical defense.

After some failed targets in the first quarter, White caught his first pass of the night in the second quarter, am 8-yard completion from Matt Ryan.He began to warm up through the end of the first half and carried the team in the third quarter.

Before catching the touchdown pass from Ryan in the third quarter, he made back-to-back receptions of 21 and 20 yards before the 4-yard TD grab. One of White's biggest catches of the night was the 21-yarder. Deep in Falcons territory, Ryan stood under pressure in the end zone to connect with White, who leaped high into the air to come down with the critical reception.

Late in the third quarter he passed the 100-yard mark with his eighth reception. In the third quarter alone, White gained 71 yards on five receptions with the touchdown. He accounted for 56 percent of Atlanta's total offense in the third.

White ended the game with eight catches for 102 yards.

Monday night's win marked the sixth straight Monday Night Football game that White's had either 100-plus yards receiving or a touchdown.
