FLOWERY BRANCH, GA – The Atlanta Falcons today have signed defensive end Maurice Lucas and waived rookie defensive end Rajon Henley.
Lucas, 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Falcons following the 2009 NFL Draft. The former Colorado Buffalo spent the 2009 season on the Falcons' practice squad and was released Feb. 8. Lucas started all 13 games at left defensive tackle for Colorado in his senior season and contributed with 43 tackles (36 solo) six tackles for loss and one quarterback sack en route to being voted as an inaugural member of the Gold Group Commitment Award. In his career, Lucas totaled 107 total tackles, four sacks, three fumble recoveries and two passes defensed.
A graduate of Texas Tech, Henley was originally signed by the Falcons as a rookie free agent on April 29.
