*AJC: *Falcons hold workout with Louisville CB Jaire Alexander
As they continue their pre-draft evaluations, the Falcons held a private workout over the weekend with Louisville cornerback Jaire Alexander, according to a report by D. Orlando Ledbetter of *The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. *Citing a source with knowledge of the workout, Ledbetter reports that Falcons head coach Dan Quinn, general manager Thomas Dimitroff and assistant general manager Scott Pioli were all on hand for the workout.
Alexander is considered by many to be one of the best prospects at his position in this draft class. He ran a blazing 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, and some project him as an ideal nickel cornerback at the next level.
Quinn has previously said the Falcons played out of their nickel package about 70 percent of the time last season, meaning the nickel cornerback role is an important one. Brian Poole has performed well in that role over the past two seasons, but there is expected to be competition at that spot in training camp.
Might the Falcons add another contender into the mix early in the draft?
