Kaylin McClure, a 12-year-old from Alpharetta, Ga., has been singing publicly since the age of nine but it was not until she won the "Kennesong" singing contest in Atlanta the summer of 2010, singing Heart's "Barracuda," when invitations for her to perform began coming in. Since then, she has drawn much attention from the Atlanta and Nashville music industry and has been invited to perform at many famous venues including Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, The Hard Rock Café, Atlantic Station, and The Atlanta Sweetwater Fest. Kaylin is also the lead vocalist in a rock band of 12 and 13 year old artists called "The TAASK". You can see many of her performances on her YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/kaylinmccluremusic.
Color Guard
Mount Zion High school Air Force JROTC is a part of the Clayton County School District and is located in Jonesboro, Georgia. This Elite Color Guard Team are the proud members of a unit that has received the Distinguished Unit award for 2007 and 2008. In 2009, they received the Outstanding Organization Award. This year, the unit was selected once again as one of 463 units to receive the 2010-2011 Air Force Junior ROTC Distinguished Unit Award. This award recognizes Air Force Junior ROTC units that have performed above and beyond normal expectations, and that have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to their school and community while meeting the Air Force Junior ROTC mission of producing better citizens for America. The Distinguished Unit Award is limited to the best of the best of our nation's 884 Air Force Junior ROTC units.
Halftime
For the eighth consecutive year, the Atlanta Falcons and USA Football have partnered to encourage more young athletes to play football and celebrate the sport. The Atlanta Falcons would like to welcome the following two teams in Thursday's halftime youth football game: 7 yr old Blazer League (Alabama Crimson Tide v Florida Gators) and the 11 yr old Bronco League (Georgia Bulldogs v Florida Gators).
