FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons announced on Tuesday that Pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones has been activated off of injured reserve and placed on the 53-man active roster. In a corresponding move, the Falcons have waived reserve offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo.
Although Jones has been added to the 53-man roster, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Monday that he would not play until he was fully healthy.
"We'll stay in the same format as we had last week, and as we go through the week, we'll take it step by step to see where he's at," Quinn said. "Too early to make a prediction and where he could be. I know he's eligible to be back this week. That doesn't mean he's ready to. So we'll put him out there when he's 100 percent ready."
Jones has recorded 253 tackles, 23 pass defenses, seven interceptions and two touchdowns since entering the NFL, and he was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2017.
Odhiambo, 26, was signed by the Falcons late in October. He selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He played in 15 games for the Seahawks and made seven starts in 2017.
