The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have placed cornerback Brent Grimes on injured reserve and signed cornerback Terrence Johnson.
Grimes, 5-10, 183 pounds, was originally signed by the Falcons as a college free agent out of Shippensburg University on May 16, 2006. He was signed to the Falcons active roster on December 17, 2007. In five seasons with the Falcons, Grimes totaled 242 tackles (207 solo), 13 interceptions, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and 56 passes defensed.
Johnson, 5-9, 195 pounds, was originally signed by the New England Patriots as a college free agent out of California University of Pennsylvania on April 29, 2010. He was waived by the Patriots and signed to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad on December 23, 2010. In 2011, Johnson played 10 games with two starts for the Colts and posted 37 total tackles (28 solo).
