Falcons Fantasy Roundup: Week 8

Each week, AtlantaFalcons.com will list the Falcons' key starters with their projected fantasy football points. With the Falcons taking each week one game at a time, you may be in the same spot in your league. So take a deep breath, relax and look at this week's fantasy football point projections below:

Quarterback: Matt Ryan

Comments: The last time the Falcons and Cardinals met on November 18, 2012, QB Matt Ryan had a 301-yard passing game. Despite not having WR Roddy White on the field in week 7, Ryan didn't miss a step. If you have Ryan in your league, START HIM.

Running Back: Jacquizz Rodgers

Comments: With RB Steven Jackson practicing this week, this potentially means that he will be ready to play on Sunday. Rodgers has been the key running back since week 3. Regardless of Jackson returning, Rodgers will still get his touches and have an impact on offense. He is still a good RB2 to have on your roster if you've got a lot of players on their bye. Wide Receiver: Harry Douglas

Comments: WR Harry Douglas has taken the term 'next man up' and ran with it ... literally. He's an added spark to the Falcons offense. If you've got Douglas on your roster, you want to START HIM.

Tight End: Tony Gonzalez

Comments: TE Tony Gonzalez had had defenses clammering down on him this season because they know what he's capable of. Despite that, he's still an explosive TE that you can't take the risk of not starting. As elusive as Gonzalez is, if he's on the field, you START HIM.

Kicker: Matt Bryant

Comments: K Matt Bryant has scored at least seven points in four of six games this season. He's a player that when his number is called, he's prepared. There is no way you sit him if you own him in your league. START HIM.

Defense/Special Teams: Atlanta Falcons

Comments: Falcons defense had a strong showing last week with S Thomas DeCoud's fumble recovery for a touchdown. When you've got a guy like Antone Smith on special teams, anything is possible. Look for this defense to continue to improve and have a strong showing against the Cardinals. I know I can't be the only one hoping to see S William Moore have another WWE type tackle, right?
