FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Falcons have released their estimated injury report to start a short week of preparation for Week 5's matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. It's an estimated injury report because the Falcons did not practice Monday. However, because of the shortened week they are required to post their injury report nonetheless.
After leaving Sunday night's win against the Saints with a knee injury, inside linebacker Troy Andersen was estimated to be the only Falcon player not participating in a hypothetical practice. To build up depth at inside linebacker — which is a group that already has Nate Landman on injured reserve — the Falcons reportedly signed former inside linebacker Rashaan Evans to the practice squad. Evans started 17 games for the Falcons in 2022 in Dean Pees' system. He had 159 tackles (six for a loss) and two sacks.
Asked about Andersen's status Monday afternoon, head coach Raheem Morris said Andersen is "hurting pretty good" but the team is considering him to be day-to-day in his recovery, similar to offensive tackle Kaleb McGary who suffered a knee injury last week.
Speaking of McGary, he was listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report. McGary was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Saints last Friday. He told reporters last week he is also day-to-day.
Also listed as limited on the Monday injury report was running back Bijan Robinson (hamstring) and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud (ankle).
