FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — After opting for a walkthrough session in lieu of an actual practice Wednesday, the Falcons held their first official practice of the week on Thursday. The practice — in rainy conditions — offered a more complete look at the status of a few notable Falcons who have popped up on the injury report this week. Some were updated to full participants, while others were downgraded.
In the good news category, the Falcons were able to get quarterback Kirk Cousins (right shoulder, right elbow), running back Tyler Allgeier (quadricep) and both centers (Drew Dalman and Ryan Neuzil) back as full participants. Outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter was also a full participant. Carter has been on injured reserve for the last four games with a concussion. He was designated to return to practice Wednesday.
As for other changes to the injury report, wide receiver Darnell Mooney popped up for the first time with an Achilles injury. He is one of three players who was limited Thursday because of the same injury; defensive linemen Zach Harrison and Grady Jarrett being the other two.
Though he was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's estimation, the Falcons held starting cornerback Mike Hughes out from participating with helmets and pads Thursday. He is working through a neck injury that knocked him out of the Falcons loss to the Saints last Sunday.
