FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Falcons (0-1) were hit hard with injuries in their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles and placed both safety Keanu Neal and linebacker Deion Jones on injured reserve this week. The injuries didn't stop there, however, as three players were held out of Wednesday's practice ahead of the Falcons' home opener against the Carolina Panthers (1-0).

Starting running back Devonta Freeman was among those who did not participate in Wednesday's practice, as he was held out due to a knee injury he suffered against the Eagles. Rookie wide receiver Russell Gage was also held out of practice due to a knee injury, and guard Ben Garland did not practice as he recovers from a calf injury that kept him out of last week's game.
Outside of the three players who did not participate in Wednesday's practice, the Falcons also listed three players as limited. Tight end Austin Hooper was limited with a knee injury and cornerbacks Isaiah Oliver and Brian Poole were both listed as having ankle injuries.
Three players were on the injury report as full participants: Wide receiver Marvin Hall, who has an ankle injury, longsnapper Josh Harris, who has a hip injury, and fullback Ricky Ortiz who has a neck injury.
