FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons (5-3) released their second injury report of the week on Thursday, and it showed the team getting healthier heading into a weekend matchup against the Dallas Cowboys (3-4).
After seven players were listed as limited on Wednesday to start the week, only five players had that designation on Thursday's injury report. Safety Justin Simmons, linebacker Kaden Elliss and cornerback Antonio Hamilton Sr. were full participants on Thursday, which is a positive sign for their availability against the Cowboys. Simmons could prove especially valuable in a matchup against Dallas' star wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb.
Two of the five limited players — linebacker Nate Landman and tight end Charlie Woerner — were listed as such because they received a rest day from the team, so there are no injury concerns there. The other three players limited on Thursday were linebacker Troy Andersen, guard Chris Lindstrom and center Drew Dalman. Lindstrom was unable to practice on Wednesday to open the week, so his limited participation is a move in the right direction.
Rookies JD Bertrand and Ruke Orhorhoro were the only players held out of practice due to a concussion and ankle injury, respectively.
The Cowboys have a number of players who are in jeopardy of missing Sunday's game, including All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerbacks DaRon Bland and Trevon Diggs.
