Falcons injury report: Justin Simmons, Troy Andersen amongst those not participating as Atlanta's Week 7 prep begins

Bijan Robinson, Matthew Judon were limited due to rest.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Falcons had a handful of names listed on their Wednesday injury report with varying degrees of severity, ranging from something as simple as rest to lingering injuries.

The most notable developments involved Troy Andersen (knee) and Justin Simmons (hamstring), as neither participated in the Falcons' Wednesday practice.

Andersen has missed the Falcons' last two games with his injury, after he was injured in the fourth quarter of the Falcons' win over the Saints. The Falcons activated fellow inside linebacker Nate Landman off injured reserve prior to last Sunday's game in Carolina. This was the first time Landman had been active since Week 1.

Despite his activation, Landman still showed up on the Falcons' Wednesday injury report, with the team citing the same calf/quad injury that landed him on IR in the first place. This is not likely to be concerning, though, as Landman played in 79% of the Falcons' 66 total defensive snaps Sunday. After missing four games and jumping right back into the game day fold, the Falcons are possibly trying to ease Landman back into the day-to-day grind.

As for Andersen — and Simmons, too, who left last Sunday's game with his injury — head coach Raheem Morris said the team is monitoring both defenders' progress this week to see whether or not they can be available to them when the Seattle Seahawks come to town this coming Sunday.

Along with Andersen and Simmons, Lorenzo Carter did not participate in Wednesday's practice. He was originally listed on the injury report as having an illness, but as the afternoon went on, his designation changed to having a concussion.

As for those who were limited, both Bijan Robinson and Matthew Judon fell into that category. Neither has an injury, with the report citing rest as the reason for their limited status. Antonio Hamilton Sr. was also limited Wednesday, but he was listed with a back injury.
