FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The turnaround from the Falcons' Monday night win over the Eagles and preparation to host the Chiefs this Sunday night is tight. So, it goes without saying that Week 3's prep is fully underway. The Falcons had their first full practice day Wednesday, releasing their first injury report of the week at the practice's conclusion. A handful of names were limited in said report. Running back Tyler Allgeier being one of them.
Allgeier was limited Wednesday with a hip injury. He is coming off a game in which the Falcons' run game performed well vs. a stout Philadelphia defense. Allgeier's contribution to the 152 total rushing yards was 53 yards on nine carries. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry to go along with Bijan Robinson's 6.9 average. Allgeier took 13 offensive snaps Monday night, which came out to 21%. He also took 13 special teams snaps in the game, too.
Also listed on Wednesday's injury report with a hip injury was defensive lineman James Smith-Williams. Like Allgeier, he was limited, too. Smith-Williams has been a rotational contributor over the course of the last two games for the Falcons. He's combined for six total tackles to start the year, three of those tackles were for a loss.
Also limited in Wednesday's practice was defensive back Antonio Hamilton Sr. and defensive lineman Ta'Quon Graham. Head coach Raheem Morris said Hamilton is getting closer to fully healthy after missing the first two games of the season with a groin injury. Graham's limited status, meanwhile, was not injury related. He was designated as a resting player.
