FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Wide receiver Julio Jones and center Alex Mack were the two Falcons starters named to the 2018 Pro Bowl roster announced on Tuesday night.
Both Jones and Mack have played key roles in Atlanta's offensive success this year. Through 14 games, the Falcons have the No. 15 ranked scoring offense (22.7 points per game), the No. 8 rushing attack and the No. 10 ranked passing offense.
Jones, a four-time Pro Bowler, has 76 catches for 1,215 yards and three touchdowns so far on the year, putting him at No. 3 in the league in receiving yards behind Antonio Brown (1,533) and DeAndre Hopkins (1,313). In his career, Jones has recorded 573 receptions for 8,825 yards – the most through a player's first 90 games in NFL history, breaking Lance Alworth's record of 8,502 yards.
Mack, another four-time Pro Bowler, has earned a Pro Bowl roster spot in his first two seasons in Atlanta. As the anchor of Atlanta's offensive line, Mack sets the tone for a unit that leads the way for Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman and keeps Matt Ryan upright.
Ryan has been sacked 18 times this season, the sixth fewest in the league. Freeman and Coleman have combined for 1,399 yards on the ground this year.
This marks back-to-back seasons for both Jones and Mack to be selected to the Pro Bowl.
