ATLANTA – Julio Jones continues to prove why he is among the best receivers the NFL has ever seen.
In the third quarter of the Falcons' regular-season finale against the Panthers, Jones caught a 14-yard pass, which brought his career receiving total to 9,013 yards. With that reception, Jones became the fastest player in NFL history to gain 9,000 receiving yards, accomplishing that feat in his 95th game.
The record was previously held by Hall of Famer Lance Alworth, who reached the 9,000-yard receiving mark in 98 games.
