FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Falcons linebacker Deion Jones is headed to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
Jones is replacing Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers, who is unable to participate due to injury. Kuechly was named a starter at inside/middle linebacker for the NFC squad.
Falcons receiver Julio Jones and center Alex Mack were also named starters to this year's NFC roster. For a complete Pro Bowl roster, click here. Jones has withdrawn from the game and Packers wide receiver Davante Adams will take his spot.
Known for his exceptional speed and big-time hits, Atlanta's linebacker has quickly made a name for himself around the NFL in just his second year.
During his first two seasons, Jones has recorded 166 tackles, 21 passes defensed, six interceptions – including two for touchdowns. Not only has he made an impact with his physical presence on the football field, he's also evolved into one of Atlanta's more vocal leaders on the defense.
The Pro Bowl will be played on Jan. 28 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.
