The Atlanta Falcons offensive linemen were finalists for the John Madden Most Valuable Protectors award this season.
The New England Patriots offensive line was named as the winner of the award, but the Falcons' front five had a season that was more than worthy of consideration for the honor.
"The Atlanta Falcons, they had the best record in the NFC and the offensive line did a great job in both the running, and the passing game," Madden said when the award winner was announced this afternoon.
The Falcons' offensive line — made up of Sam Baker, Justin Blalock, Todd McClure, Harvey Dahl and Tyson Clabo — helped running back Michael Turner lead the NFC in rushing in 2010. Clabo was named to the 2010 Pro Bowl and started for the NFC team.
