The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have activated C Joe Hawley from the Reserve-Commissioner Exemption list and placed WR Kevin Cone on injured reserve.

Hawley, 6-3, 302 pounds, was selected by the Falcons in the fourth round (117 overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft from UNLV. He has played in 37 games with 12 starts in his three seasons with the Falcons. He has seen action in six games this season as a reserve offensive lineman. Last season, Hawley played in all 16 games with 12 starts and helped pave the way for RB Michael Turner who led the NFC with 1,340 rushing yards, and QB Matt Ryan who threw for 4,177 yards.

Cone, 6-2, 216 pounds, was originally signed by the Falcons as a college free agent on August 2, 2011 out of Georgia Tech. Last year, he was a member of the Falcons practice squad from weeks 1-15 before being signed to the active roster for the season finale against Tampa Bay (1/1/12). Cone saw action in 12 games this season, primarily on special teams.
