FALCONS PLAYERS TO VISIT LOCAL FIRE STATIONS TO HONOR ATLANTA'S SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN

In commemoration of September 11th, Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner, cornerback Dunta Robinson and several other Falcons players and cheerleaders will be making three surprise visits to Atlanta Fire stations to thank our city's service men and women for their hard work and dedication on Tuesday, September 13. They will be signing autographs, taking photographs and touring the different stations. Also courtesy of Papa Johns, the players will be handing out pizzas to the firefighters as well. The visits will take place from noon – 2 p.m. Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran will be at Station # 21.

Running back Michael Turner and tight end Michael Palmer will also be surprising the firefighters with tickets to the September 18th game vs. Philadelphia.

To kickoff the fifth-year for the Atlanta Falcons First Down for Fitness program, wide receiver Harry Douglas, safety William Moore and other Falcons players, cheerleaders and Freddie Falcon will be participating in an Atlanta Falcons Gatorade Junior Training Camp at Meadowcreek Elementary in Norcross. This free football camp, a program geared towards children in third through sixth grade, stresses the importance of proper football technique and promotes physical activity as well as proper hydration. The players and cheerleaders will be coaching the children through the various stations and will be teaching them different football techniques.

The Falcons First Down for Fitness is a three-month program (September 1 thru November 25, 2011) designed to challenge third through seventh grade students throughout the state of Georgia to participate in fitness activities, eat healthy and lead a healthy lifestyle. This incentive-based program rewards participants for being active five days a week for at least 60 minutes a day. The Falcons First Down for Fitness program is at an all-time with over 40,000 students from all across the state of Georgia. The Falcons continue to be one of the leaders in the League with the NFL Play 60 movement.
