Falcons call up receiver reserve from practice squad, update Drew Dalman's Week 10 status

The Falcons travel to New Orleans to face the Saints this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have made a few noteworthy moves as the team prepares to travel to New Orleans to face the Saints this Sunday.

After originally listing center Drew Dalman as questionable for Sunday's game, the Falcons have downgraded him to out.

Dalman has been on injured reserve with an ankle injury since Week 4 of the season. He was designated to return to practice two weeks ago and is in the midst of a 21-day window in which he must be signed back to the active roster or be placed on season-ending IR. The latter of the two options seems drastic at this point for someone who is trending back well. Dalman was a full participant in every practice the Falcons had in Week 10.

Dalman was designated to return to practice on October 30, meaning the Falcons still have plenty of time within that 21-day window to activate him.

As for other roster news, the Falcons have used a standard practice squad elevation on wide receiver Chris Blair and outside linebacker Khalid Kareem. This is the second elevation used on Blair after he was brought up to the game day roster in Week 1. Blair's elevation is significant as the Falcons listed wide receiver Drake London as questionable for Sunday's game with a hip injury. London was limited throughout Week 10's practices.

The Falcons will release a final decision on London 90 minutes before kickoff when their inactives list is revealed.

The Falcons-Saints game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Sunday and set to air live on FOX from the Caesars Superdome.

Previous 2024 practice squad elevations include:

  • Week 1: cornerback Kevin King and wide receiver Chris Blair
  • Week 2: safety Dane Cruikshank
  • Week 3: none
  • Week 4: offensive lineman Matt Hennessy
  • Week 5: Hennessy and inside linebacker Josh Woods
  • Week 6: Hennessy and King
  • Week 7: defensive lineman Demone Harris and defensive back Natrone Brooks
  • Week 8: Harris and Brooks
  • Week 9: Harris and Brooks

As a reminder, teams can elevate up to two practice squad players per game. Each player can only be elevated a max of three times. If a fourth time comes up, the player must be signed to the active roster.
