STELLAR STATS

— The Falcons were perfect in the red zone for the third consecutive game, going three for three. On the season, Atlanta has converted 16 of its 28 red-zone attempts; the Falcons' conversion rate of 57.1% is their best mark since the 2018 season and ranks 12th in the league.

— The Falcons are 6-3 for the first time since 2016. That season, Atlanta went 11-5 and went to the Super Bowl, ultimately losing to the New England Patriots. Since the 2000 season, 37 teams have posted a 6-3 record through nine games. Of those teams, 26 went on to reach the postseason (70.3%).

— Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins now has 43 games with three touchdown passes or more, which is fourth among active quarterbacks behind the New York Jets' Aaron Rodgers (83), Los Angeles Rams' Matthew Stafford (56) and Pittsburgh Steelers' Russell Wilson (46). Three of Cousins' games have come this season.

— With his 145 total yards against the Cowboys, Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has now had four consecutive games in which he totaled at least 100 scrimmage yards, tying him with Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon for the longest streak in the NFL. Robinson has had six games like this in 2024, which makes him one of three players to do so. The others are New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.

OBSCURE FACTS

— Cousins has thrown 17 touchdown passes through Week 9. That's the same amount former Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder (12) and Taylor Heinicke (five) combined for in 2023.

— Bradley Pinion punted a season-high five times against the Cowboys. His previous high was four in the Week 1 loss to the Steelers. Otherwise, he had two games in which he only punted once. He was averaging 2.5 punts per game entering Week 9.

— The Falcons' special teams sniffed out a fake punt for the second time in as many weeks. In the third quarter, Cowboys punter Bryan Anger attempted to throw a pass to cornerback C.J. Goodwin. Falcons cornerback Natrone Brooks nearly picked it off but broke it up nonetheless.

— The Falcons had a season-high three sacks thanks to outside linebacker Arnold Ebiketie, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and inside linebacker Kaden Elliss. That equals half Atlanta's total (six) through the first eight game. The Falcons hadn't had a multi-sack game since their Week 1 loss to the Steelers, when Atlanta had two.

QUOTING RAHEEM MORRIS

On how it feels to be 6-3…

"I know (owner Arthur Blank) wants more than six wins, and I know it's my job to go out there and get it. This organization deserves more. This team deserves more. These coaches deserve more. And we are hungry, man. We just want to go out there and keep getting them."

QUOTING THE FALCONS

Quarterback Kirk Cousins

On whether he needs to deliver a message to the team when on a winning streak…

"This league will beat you up. It's so tough. It's such a grind. As one coach used to say to me, he's like, 'Hey, we're checking into a miserable hotel for six months.' That's the way it is. And so, we all need encouragement. We all need motivation."

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett

On the team taking over the lead and keeping it late in the game…

"I know that our best football is still yet to come, and that's the exciting part. Definitely needed this win today, and we got it, and it's going to continue to propel us forward. We're hungry for more."

QUOTING THE OPPONENT

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs

On facing Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins…

"He's very difficult, veteran in the league. He's seen all the looks. He's going to make all the checks. You can't give him a clean pocket. You have to make sure he moves his feet. If he has clean feet, he is going to be pretty efficient."
