ATLANTA -- After a month in which he caught 15 passes for 264 yards and six touchdowns -- setting an NFL record for the first rookie in NFL history to catch six touchdowns in the team's first four games, Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Month.
Ridley, Atlanta's first-round draft pick, has impressed since his arrival back in April. His precise route-running ability and his speed has made him an immediate weapon in the Falcons' offense.
The former Alabama product currently is tied with Saints' running back Alvin Kamara and Rams' running back Todd Gurley for most touchdowns in the league with six.
Ridley joins Deion Jones (Defensive Rookie of the Month, Sept. 2016), Julio Jones (Offensive Rookie of the Month, Dec. and Jan. 2011) and Matt Ryan (Offensive Rookie of the Month, Oct. 2008) as current players on the Falcons' roster who have won this award.
