Georgia is a state rich in tradition in high school football. The Atlanta Falcons and The Georgia Army National Guard are proud to recognize high school teams in all five State of Georgia classifications which demonstrate character, integrity, strength and teamwork both on and off the field.
These weekly awards are open to all teams, and nominators must detail the specific examples of character, integrity and strength that they believe warrant the award for that team.
Beginning each week in early September through mid-November, three nominees will be chosen within each of the five classifications. The general public will be able to visit Atlantafalcons.com weekly and vote for one team in each of the of the five classifications.
The Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Army National Guard will recognize the top vote-getter in each of the five classifications, and each of these top teams will receive the coveted High School Team of the Week crystal.
The grand prize winner (team with the most overall votes - from just ONE of the five classifications) from each week will receive a visit from the Atlanta Falcons which will include a Falcons player, the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, Freddie Falcon as well as customized t-shirts for the entire football team and football operations staff (courtesy of Russell Athletic).
