How they see it: Pundits' picks

Each week AtlantaFalcons.com contributing writer Daniel Cox examines the NFL experts and their Falcons picks and compiles it all to see who believes the most in the Atlanta Falcons. ESPN's Mark Schlereth and ProFootballTalk.com's Gregg Rosenthal are all tied for the best records when picking Falcons games — each has amassed a stellar 8-1 record. Both Schlereth and Rosenthal picked the Falcons to oust the Ravens last Thursday.

Shocking.

Adam Schefter continues a streak of picking against Atlanta. Last week was the third game he's picked against the Falcons that was a win for the home team. This week he's one of three pundits picking the Rams to upset the Falcons.

After sticking with the Falcons for the entire season, Mortensen turned away from Atlanta last week and dropped to a middle-of-the-pack 6-3 after a rise to the top similar to the Falcons' current run. This week, he's back with the local squad.

With a win, Schlereth and Rosenthal can continue to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the panel of pundits. Each has only lost one game and Rosenthal gets special credit for losing a game the Falcons did, as well.

"The Rams have lost only one game in their building this season but will be facing a well-rested, well-prepared Atlanta squad with an MVP candidate under center. I'll take that guy over a rookie, regardless of what building the game's being played in." - Peter Schrager, FoxSports.com's Week 11 picks * "The Rams play much better at home than they do on the road. But it likely won't be good enough to beat a Falcons team that is 7-0 outside of Pennsylvania this year. It likely won't be a blowout, but the Falcons look too good for a letdown." - Mike Florio, ProFootballTalk.com's Week 11 picks * "The Falcons are atop plenty of power rankings — like PFT's — because they win close games. It doesn't matter if they play the 49ers, Bengals, Ravens or Saints. The game comes down to the final minute. Expect the same to happen in St. Louis, where Atlanta should feel at home in the dome in another late nail biter. -Gregg Rosenthal, ProFootballTalk.com's Week 11 picks
