The Georgia Dome will be a busy, busy place this week and weekend with the Falcons playing their final preseason game of the year against Baltimore on Thursday night, and then two college games being hosted there the following two days.
Thursday night, especially, will cause traffic concerns with Georgia Tech hosting a game at the same time as the Falcons' final preseason game. That game will cause traffic that normally uses North Avenue to access the Georgia Dome to be rerouted from the normal course. Additional traffic officers will be on hand to help direct traffic in this area. Fans are encouraged to avoid the North Avenue area if possible.
New for 2011, the Atlanta Falcons have developed an interactive parking and traffic map, depicting the fastest routes in and out of area parking lots. The new interactive feature can be viewed here: vsv.atlantafalcons.com.
For the Falcons game on Thursday, the Georgia Dome doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and all Georgia Dome parking lots will open five hours prior to kick off at 2:30 p.m.
Fans without pre-paid parking passes to any of this weekend's games are strongly encouraged to use MARTA (mass transit, www.itsmarta.com.) All fans are also encouraged to arrive early to maximize their fun and enjoyment.
The Georgia Dome would also like to remind fans there is a potential danger of being sold counterfeit tickets via the secondary market.
The only authorized outlets for Atlanta Falcons tickets are the Georgia Dome ticket office, Atlanta Falcons ticket office and Ticketmaster’s NFL Ticket Exchange program.
