FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Falcons announced Tuesday that they will hold out a trio of offensive players for their third preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The three players who will be out on Saturday for the third preseason game, usually considered a dress rehearsal of sorts for the starters, are wide receiver Julio Jones, running back Devonta Freeman and offensive lineman Ben Garland. Only Garland is being held out for medical reasons, as he is dealing with a "strain." Both Jones and Freeman are being held out as a coach's decision.

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said it was "likely" that Jones and Freeman won't see the field in a preseason game this year.

In addition to the news that those three players would be out, the Falcons also announced that kicker Matt Bryant's status for the game would be determined this week as well as the status of linebacker Deion Jones, who is day-to-day with a strain.
