FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have added two tackles, one for each side of the ball.
The team announced Wednesday it signed offensive tackle Jaryd Jones-Smith and defensive tackle Prince Emili.
Jones-Smith has been in the NFL since 2018, first signing with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent, but only claims playing time from 2020-21.
In 2020, Jones-Smith was with the Las Vegas Raiders and appeared in three games, taking 14 snaps on special teams. The 6-foot-7, 320-pound tackle spent the 2021 season with the Baltimore Ravens and appeared in another three games, this time taking two offensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps.
Jones-Smith's last stop in the league came in 2023 as a member of the Washington Commanders' practice squad.
Jones-Smith has also spent time in the XFL/UFL as recently as earlier this year with the St. Louis Battlehawks.
Emili, meanwhile, joined the league in 2022 as an undrafted free agent and originally signed with the Buffalo Bills. He, too, has spent a majority of his career on a practice squad. He does have two game appearances from 2022 with the Bills, in which he recorded three tackles and a pass breakup.
The New Orleans Saints signed Emili to their practice squad during the 2022 season. The Saints then signed the 6-foot-2, 300-pound defender to a reserve/future contract in 2023 but released him prior to the season.
Again, like Jones-Smith, Emili played in the UFL. Emili was with the San Antonio Brahmas, helping the team reach the UFL Championship game.
As corresponding moves, the Falcons released offensive lineman Nolan Potter and defensive lineman Willington Previlon. Potter is an undrafted rookie. Previlon spent the last four seasons on the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys practice squads but has yet to appear in a game.
