AtlantaFalcons.com managing editor Jay Adams gives his three takeaways each day during training camp
## Not-so-intense
Wednesday's practices weren't nearly as intense as sessions were the previous two days with the Jacksonville Jaguars in town. The Falcons are in full game-preparation mode, and that means taking a lot of mental reps and fine tuning certain things. Each session Wednesday was light, with players in helmets, jerseys and shorts. Wednesday afternoon featured a quick special teams practice, which meant several veterans not involved in that area of the game got some much-needed rest.
## Business as usual
Friday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs might seem to be a big one as Tony Gonzalez will be taking on his old team. He's not making a big deal out of it. He said he's looking forward to seeing some people on the team and in the organization that he hasn't seen in a while, but other than that, it's just another game for him. If this were the regular season, we'd likely see this storyline hyped up a lot more, but because it's the preseason, there's not much attention being given to Gonzalez's meeting with his former team.
## Time unknown
Head coach Mike Smith hasn't decided how much time veterans and first-team players will see on the field during Friday night's preseason game. Traditionally, starters play about a quarter of the first preseason game and see the most time during the third game. With so many young and inexperienced players on the team vying for roster spots, it's likely that they will see a good amount of playing time Friday.
