Atlanta takes on a talented Browns team tonight and looks to build on the momentum established from last week's strong performance against the Washington Redskins.
What does head coach Dan Quinn's team need to do to leave Cleveland with a victory?
1. Win the turnover margin
Last week, the Falcons were -1 in the turnover margin, due to a Brandon Wilds fumble on which Washington capitalized. Atlanta's defense was unable to create any takeaways, an area that Quinn emphasizes as one of the most important parts of his program.
2. Limit the number of pre-snap penalties
Discipline serves as a core foundation for the Falcons, and the team's five pre-snap penalties last week quickly became a big area of concentration this week. Pre-snap penalties consist of illegal formation and false starts on the offensive side of the ball, and offsides by the defense.
3. Points scored versus points allowed
It's as simple as it sounds. Against the Redskins, Quinn's team only gave up 17 points, 10 of which came from drives starting on the Falcons' side of the 50-yard line. If the offense can limit the turnovers and leave the defense with good field position, Atlanta will be in good shape.
