Falcons linebacker Deion Jones was named to the NFC's 2018 Pro Bowl roster on Tuesday afternoon as a replacement for Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, who will miss the all-star game due to injury.
This is Jones' first Pro Bowl selection; the second-year defender will join Falcons center Alex Mack as one of the team's representatives. Wide receiver Julio Jones was also named to the Pro Bowl, but he will not participate in the event, leaving Packers receiver Davante Adams to take his spot.
Jones emerged as a rising star in the middle of the Falcons defense this season, leading the team with 138 total tackles - tied for the fourth-most in the NFL - while also recording 10 tackles for a loss and nine pass defenses.
Following the announcement that Jones would be attending his first Pro Bowl, many Falcons players reached out through social media to congratulate their teammate.
