Gerry McCormick, 45 from Cumming, Ga., claimed the first of three $250,000 prizes on the Atlanta Falcons In The House Georgia Lottery scratch-off ticket.
McCormick was on his way home from the first day at a new truck driving job and picked up a biscuit and an Atlanta Falcons In The House instant ticket.
"I got the Falcons ticket because I like football," McCormick said, adding that the Atlanta Falcons are his favorite NFL team. "I went to the car and scratched it and was as dumbfounded as can be."
Al's Quick Stop, 1080 Dahlonega Highway in Cumming, Ga., sold the winning ticket.
"I'm going to do absolutely nothing but put it in the bank and look at it," McCormick said.
There are still two more $250,000 prizes out there. Each non-winning ticket can also be entered into a second-chance drawing for a $200,000 home makeover this year. Every non-winning ticket is also good for a free waffle at all participating Waffle House locations.
